Books

Hey, I’ve got some summer reading for y’all. But it was a complicated list to compile.

Books about urbex are about as rare as a unicorn sighting. And if you’ve ever tried to find one, you know it’s like looking for a needle in a haystack. Why is that, you ask? Well, for starters, urban exploration is an underground activity, and not just because it involves exploring abandoned buildings and other off-limits areas.

Urbexers like to keep a low profile and don’t usually advertise their exploits. Well, I do. They don’t want their secret spots to be overrun by tourists or worse, the authorities. So it’s no surprise that they don’t want to publish books that might reveal their secrets and put their favorite haunts at risk of being shut down.

Additionally, urbex is a visual medium, and most of the action happens in photos and videos. Sure, you could write a book about your experiences, but let’s be real – without the visuals, it’s just not the same. And most urbexers would rather share their experiences through photos and videos on social media than in a book.

Finally, there’s just not a huge market for urbex books. While it’s a fascinating subculture, it’s still relatively niche. Not everyone is interested in exploring abandoned buildings and other off-limits areas, and those who are often prefer to experience it firsthand rather than through a book.

So, while it’s a shame that books about Urbex are rare, it’s not surprising.

However, here are a few books about urbex that you may find interesting:
