Familly outings

It’s summer. Time to get out !!

Urbex is a hobby or activity that involves exploring abandoned or hidden man-made structures in urban areas, such as factories, hospitals, and other buildings. Whether or not it can be considered a family hobby depends on the individual family and their interests. I have personally taken my kids to Urbex outings, but only on sites I knew very well. Places I had visited several times before, and where the entrance was not prohibited. In other words, they were NOT tresspassing. Truth be told, I’ve also taken my wife to places where we were not supposed to be. But she’s is a fully consenting adult…

Some families may enjoy exploring abandoned buildings together, taking photographs and learning about the history of the structures. Other families may not be interested in this type of activity or may consider it too risky.

As ever, it’s important to note that urbex can be dangerous, and exploring abandoned buildings can pose risks such as falling through floors, encountering hazardous materials, or being injured by debris. It’s important to take proper safety precautions and to always be aware of potential dangers.

So, whether or not urbex is a family hobby depends on the interests and preferences of the individual family, and it’s important to approach the activity with caution and safety in mind.
